Senior Loran Wilson (Danville, Ky.) scored twice and five others also connected as the Hanover College women’s soccer team defeated Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference-rival Anderson University, 7-0.
The Panthers, now 9-1-2 overall and 2-0-1 in the HCAC, outshot the Ravens 26-2, limiting Anderson to two opportunities in the first period.
Senior Chloe Hutchinson (Louisville, Ky.) started the scoring early, ricocheting a cross off the far post just six minutes into the game.
Junior forward Tricia Walsh (Amelia, Ohio) converted a Hannah Barker (Carmel, Ind.) assist with 39:14 played to put the Panthers up 2-0 at intermission.
Hanover increased the offensive output in the second half, thanks in part to an assist and goal by junior forward Ashley Turner (Indianapolis, Ind.).
Turner found sophomore Anne-Spicer Adams (Midway, Ky.) just inside the box 12 minutes into the second half. Adams faked past the keeper to net her first goal of the season.
Turner followed with a goal of her own in the 69th minute, striking from just outside the 18-yard box.
Three minutes later, freshman forward Anna Cornacchione (Cincinnati, Ohio) corralled a Rebecca Tumlin (Harrison, Ohio) assist to sink her team-leading fifth goal of the season.
Wilson received assists from both Walsh (80:56) and Adams (84:10) to close out the Panthers' scoring.
Hanover goalie Morgan Cole (Mason, Ohio) collected one save to claim the victory.
Anderson keeper Danielle Gilles secured five saves as the Ravens fell to 3-8-2 overall and ;0-3 in the conference.
