Wells leads XC to best finish since 2005

Junior Logan Wells (Scottsburg, Ind.) earned all-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference honors as the Hanover College men’s cross country team scored 133 points to place fourth in the league championship.

Senior Brendan Kelly (Indianapolis, Ind.) claimed honorable mention honors as the team enjoyed its highest finish since a fourth-place effort in 2005.

Wells covered the eight-kilometer course in 26:43.1, placing ninth overall. Kelly held off several challengers in the last 100 meters, running a lifetime-best 27:16.2 to claim 20th overall.

Freshman Jake Hally (Indianapolis, Ind) placed 35th with a 27:51.3 effort, while sophomore Drew Elston (Carmel, Ind.) placed 46th in 28:19.3.

Senior Jason Holcomb (Sellersburg, Ind.) completed the Panthers' scoring, running 28:27.7 to finish 49th.

Manchester University’s Curtis Nordman ran 25:46.5 to win the individual title, while the Spartans won the team crown with 22 points.
