The Hanover College volleyball squad lost to Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference front-runner Defiance College (Ohio) in three games to close the regular-season.
Hanover, now 14-15 overall and 5-4 in the HCAC, fell to the Yellow Jackets 25-15, 25-16, 25-23 in Collier Arena.
Sophomore outside hitter Rachel Regenauer (Peewee Valley, Ky.) had seven kills and classmate Rachel Hasewinkel (Sheridan, Ind.) added six for the Panthers, which have lost three straight matches against the Yellow Jackets (23-5; 9-0 HCAC).
Freshman setter Molly Murphy (Hilliard, Ohio) tallied 12 assists.
Senior return specialist Kylie Justus (Crawfordsville, Ind.) had a team-best 11 digs.
Hanover will be the No. 5 seed in the Heartland Conference’s six-team post-season tournament. The Panthers will open Tuesday, Nov. 5, on the road at the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
