The Hanover College men’s soccer team’s record-setting season came to a close with a 3-0 loss to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in the semifinal round of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference. The match was held Tuesday, Nov. 8 in Terre Haute, Ind.
Hanover had previously tied Rose-Hulman in an earlier meeting, but could not hold off the third-seeded Engineers.
Senior John Wittich (West Chester, Ohio) led the Hanover offensive attach, taking three of the Panthers' nine shots, with six others shooting one each.
Junior Trevor Korfhagen (Cincinnati, Ohio) tallied four saves in the goalkeeper position.
Rose-Hulman outshot Hanover 10-9 and enjoyed a 5-3 corner kick advantage.
Hanover ends the year 10-8-2; 6-2-1 HCAC. The team set school records for total wins and conference wins.
