Junior Mackenzie Dye (New Castle, Ind.) placed 68th (23:31.2) to lead the Hanover College women’s cross country team to a 16th-place at the NCAA DIII Great Lakes Regional. The meet was held on the campus of Calvin College (Mich.) in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Sophomore Teresa Wiczynski (Columbus, Ind.) was second for the Panthers, covering the six-kilometer course in 24:06.1.
Hanover maintained the tight-pack racing they have employed this season, as the final three scorers finished within the next 20 seconds. The Panthers enjoyed a 1-5 gap of less than 50 seconds.
Junior Claire Hinshaw (New Castle, Ind.) ran 24:08.8 to finish 102nd, while sophomore Rachel Smith (Brownsburg, Ind.) ran 24:15.2 (107th).
Freshman Cami Trachtman (Carmel, Ind.) rounded out the scoring, running 24:19.0 to place 110th.
Senior Janelle Lantz (Indianapolis, Ind.) and freshman Mailika States (Indianapolis, Ind.) completed the Panthers' seven, running 24:32.4 and 25:24.7, respectively.
Host Calvin won the 33-team meet with 54 points, while the Panthers scored 470.
Calvin freshman Cassandra Vance won the meet in 21:27.8.
