Junior guard Tim Bass (Indianapolis, Ind.) has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference’s men’s basketball player of the week for his efforts in two games last week.
Bass averaged 19 points, 8.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game to help Hanover remain atop the Heartland Conference standings with two wins in the past week.
He netted 22 points, dished out seven assists and had two steals in an 87-77 victory at Transylvania University (Ky.), Jan. 8. He followed that performance with his second career double-double, posting 16 points and 10 assists, along with three steals, in a 75-59 triumph at Bluffton University (Ohio), Jan. 11.
For the week, Bass was 11-of-19 from the field (57.8%) and 15-of-18 from the free throw line (83.3%).
This season, Bass leads the Panthers in scoring with 14.7 points per outing. He ranks first in the HCAC with 5.8 assists per game.
Hanover, 9-4 overall and 5-1 in the conference, will play at the College of Mount St. Joseph (Ohio), Jan. 15, and will host Manchester University, Jan. 18, in the annual Alumni Day game.
