Hanover College’s men’s golf team placed fifth out of 12 schools at the College of Mount St. Joseph (Ohio) Spring Invitational. The 36-hole event was held at the Ashton Oaks Golf Club in North Bend, Ohio.
Senior Robert Bader (Louisville, Ky.) fired a nine-over 153 (74-79) and led Hanover with a seventh-place finish in a field of more than 90 athletes. Freshman Johnny Vidal (Harrison, Ohio) posted back-to-back rounds of 81 (162) on the par-72, 6,665-yard course to land in 29th place.
Junior Matt Ehman (Noblesville, Ind.) was 35th with a 166 (80-86) and freshman P.J. Greene (Mason, Ohio) finished 39th and rounded out the Panthers scoring with a two-day total of 167 (82-85).
Freshman Joseph Mingione (Lexington, Ind.), playing as an individual, posted a non-scoring round of 166 (78-88) to share 35th place with Ehman. Senior Terry Smith (Peru, Ind.) was 48th overall with a 170 (88-82).
Hanover totaled 644 strokes (317-327) to land behind Transylvania University (613), Mount St. Joseph (616), Davenport University (637) and Adrian College (641).
Host Mount St. Joseph’s Matt Stein was the medalist with a two-round total of 151 (74-77). He defeated Transylvania’s Jacob Hamilton (151) in a playoff.
