Tennis falls in HCAC opener at Anderson

Hanover College’s men’s tennis team opened its Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference slate with a 5-4 loss to Anderson University in Anderson, Ind.

Sophomore Reid Clark (Greenfield, Ind.) scored a 6-2, 7-5 victory at No. 2 singles against Anderson’s Connor Whiteside. He also teamed with his brother, junior Brian Clark (Greenfield, Ind.), for an 8-2 victory at No. 1 doubles against Whiteside and Drew Lovern.

Senior Jordan Myers (Indianapolis, Ind.) blanked the Ravens’ Andrew Gingerich, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3.

Junior Andrew Laubner (Elkhart, Ind.) held off Ethan Hillman, 4-6, 6-2, 10-5, for a win at No. 5.

With the loss, Hanover fell to 0-6 overall and 0-1 in the HCAC. Anderson evened its record at 1-1 overall and 1-0 in the league.
