Hanover College’s men’s tennis team recorded its second victory of the spring with an 8-1 win against Thomas More College (Ky.) at the Zeddies Tennis Center.
Hanover, now 2-7 this season, swept all three doubles matches and earned victories in five of the six singles battles.
Juniors Brian Clark (Greenfield, Ind.) and Andrew Laubner (Elkhart, Ind.), along with sophomores Reid Clark (Greenfield, Ind.) and Joshua Ruse (Indianapolis, Ind.), each notched two wins against the Saints (0-5).
Brian Clark defeated Thomas More’s Sergio Pascual, 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1. Reid Clark handled Jared Justice, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2.
The Clark brothers combined to beat Justice, and his sibling, Austin, 8-3, at No. 1 doubles.
Ruse knocked off the Saints' Tim Rice, 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4 singles, while Laubner battled to a 7-5, 6-1 win against Ben Millman at No. 5.
Laubner and Ruse held off Pascual and Rice, 8-6, in a clash at No. 2 doubles.
Senior Jordan Myers (Indianapolis, Ind.) defeated Austin Justice, 6-4, 6-0 at No. 4 singles.
Freshmen Nathan Jones (Richmond, Ind.) and Derek Kippenbrock (Dale, Ind.) paired for an 8-3 triumph against Millman and Michael Stephens at No. 3 doubles.
