Senior Jordan Myers (Indianapolis, Ind.) and sophomore Reid Clark (Greenfield, Ind.) combined for three wins, but Hanover College's men’s tennis team fell to Franklin College, 5-4, in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference match at the Zeddies Tennis Center.
Hanover won two of the three doubles matches, but Franklin bounced back to take four of the six singles matches.
Clark, playing in the No. 1 slot, rallied to beat the Grizzlies’ Ryan Hammer, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4. Myers defeated Evan Pierle 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3.
Myers and Clark also teamed for an 8-3 triumph against Hammer and Ethan Caldwell at No. 1 doubles.
Senior Brian Clark (Greenfield, Ind.) and sophomore Joshua Ruse (Indianapolis, Ind.) held off Franklin’s Jared Hunt and Luke Snyder for an 8-6 victory at No. 2 doubles.
Hanover is now 3-9 overall and 1-4 in the HCAC. The Grizzlies improved to 5-4 overall and 3-2 in the league.
