Junior attacker Josh Green (Beaumaris, Australia) highlights four members of Hanover College’s men’s lacrosse squad who have earned post-season honors from the Midwest Lacrosse Conference.
Green has been selected to the MLC’s first-team, while classmate Nick Hermes (Grayslake, Ill.) and senior Sam Kampert (Noblesville, Ind.) were each named to the second team. Junior goalie Addison Sears (Louisville, Ky.) was selected to the conference’s sportsmanship team.
Green, a two-time all-league selection, became the first Hanover player to score more than 40 goals in a season. He led the Panthers, and placed fourth in the MLC, with a school single-season record 48 goals. He ranked second in the league with a school-record 181 shots and also added 11 assists.
Hermes, an attacker, netted 39 goals and dished out 24 assists. His 63-point effort set a program single-season record and was the fifth-highest point total in the conference.
Kampert, a two-time all-MLC defender, totaled 37 ground balls and caused 10 turnovers. He also scored two goals and had a pair of assists.
Sears posted an 8-3 record in 16 appearances in Hanover’s goal. He ranked seventh in the conference in both goals allowed and saves. He allowed 9.49 goals per outing and totaled 134 saves in nearly 44 minutes per match.
Hanover capped the season with a school-record nine victories and notched the four-year-old program's first winning record. The Panthers finished 9-7 overall and landed sixth in the Midwest Lacrosse Conference with a 5-5 mark.
