Junior first baseman Matt Brooks (Goodlettsville, Tenn.) has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference’s hitter of the week for the second time this season.
Brooks batted .588 to help Hanover cap the season with a four league victories in a row. He was 10-for-17 at the plate with seven runs scored, two doubles, a home run, and seven runs-batted-in.
He had two hits in three of last week’s games and added a 4-for-5 outing in a 7-6 home victory against the College of Mount St. Joseph (Ohio), May 3.
Brooks posted a .350 batting average during the season. He led the Panthers with 49 hits, 13 doubles and two triples. He also added a pair of home runs and was second on the squad with 25 runs-batted-in.
Hanover closed the season with a 16-19 overall record. The Panthers were sixth in the Heartland Conference with a 12-13 record.
