Hanover vs. Alma, Feb. 24

Alma sweeps Panthers with 4-2 triumph
Alma College (Mich.) completed a doubleheader sweep of Hanover College's softball squad with a 4-2 win, Tuesday, Feb. 24, in Clermont, Fla. The contest, the last of three during the day for the Panthers, was played as part of the NTC Challenge.

Hanover, which outhit Alma, 4-3, held a 2-1 lead heading into the fifth inning. The Scots rallied for the victory with three runs in the stanza. Alma (2-1) did not have a hit, but took advantage of two walks and three errors by the Panthers to score the decisive runs.

Junior hurler Emily Merrill (Milton, Ky.) started for Hanover. She pitched four innings, scattering three hits and one run. She had one strikeout and issued one base on balls. 

Sophomore Chelsea Hanner (Bloomingdale, Ind.) was tagged with the loss. She pitched two innings of no-hit relief, but was hurt by the two walks and trio of fielding errors.
