Peter Preocanin, Head Volleyball Coach
Hanover head coach Peter Preocanin has led Hanover's volleyball program for the past 11 seasons. Prior to becoming the head coach in 1999, he served as an assistant with the squad for four seasons.
Preocanin, a two-time recipient of the Heatland Collegiate Athletic Conference's coach of the year honor, led the Panthers to a 23-11 record in 2008, including the HCAC's regular-season and tournament championships and a berth in the NCAA III national tournament.
He was named the Heartland Conference's coach of the year in 2008 and 2004. During the 2004 campaign, he led his squad, which included 13 freshmen, to a 16-17 record and fourth-place finish in the league.
A former standout player, he was part of a team that captured the Ontario Provincial championship and posted fifth-and sixth-place finishes in the Canadian championships.
As a collegiate player at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Preocanin captured all-provincial honors and all-Canadian recognition in his final two seasons of college. In 1992, he earned an invitation to the Canadian Olympic Trials.
Before coming to Hanover, he served as an assistant coach with a division I program in Ontario, Canada, and guided a 16-18-year-old club team for three seasons.
Preocanin holds bachelor's degrees in chemistry and physical therapy.
Megan Smalley, Assistant Coach
Megan Smalley is in her third season as an assistant with Hanover's volleyball program.
A 2005 graduate of Campbellsville University (Ky.), Smalley comes to Hanover after serving as an assistant coach with the softball program at Presentation Academy in Louisville, Ky.
She was a four-year member of Campbellsville's volleyball team. She served as the Tigers' captain as a junior and senior.
