Freshman trio named to all-Heartland Conference team
First-year center Molly Martin (Terre Haute, Ind.) led three Hanover College freshmen who were named to the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference all-league squad.

Martin was named the HCAC's freshman of the year. Guard Lacey Hornaday (Rushville, Ind.) was a first-team selection and forward Torin Franz (Bloomington, Ind.) earned honorable mention from the the league's nine head coaches.

Martin led Hanover in three categories during the 2007-08 campaign, averaging 15.1 points, 10.7 rebounds and 1.3 blocked shots in 26 games for the Panthers. She scored a season-high 27 points in a 77-69 loss to Franklin College Jan. 23. She set a school single-game record with 22 rebounds in a 75-66 overtime loss at the College of Mount St. Joseph (Ohio) Jan. 30.

Martin, who registered 14 doubles-doubles during the season, shot 46.9 percent from the floor (159-of-339) and 67.2 percent from the free throw line (88-of-131).

Hornaday averaged 9.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists through 27 games for the Panthers. She was named the most valuable player in Hanover's Eleanore Moyer Tournament after netting a season-best 23 points in an 80-76 overtime victory against Denison University (Ohio), Dec. 16, in the event's championship game. She grabbed a season-high nine rebounds in a 62-55 win against Manchester College Feb. 9.

Hornaday made 42.4 percent of her field goal attempts (95-of-224), including 38.8 percent from three-point range (33-of-85). She was 35-of-57 from the foul line (61.4%).

Franz ranked second on Hanover's squad in scoring with 10.0 points per contest and also posted 5.4 rebounds per outing for the Panthers. She scored in double figures in 15 of her 27 games with the team, including a season-high 19 points in a 73-64 win against Bluffton University (Ohio), Jan. 12. She pulled down a season-best 12 boards in the overtime loss at Mount St. Joseph (Ohio) Jan. 30

Franz converted 96-of-265 field goal attempts (36.2%). She shot 71.9 percent from the charity stripe (64-of-89).

With 10 first-year players on the roster, Hanover rebounded from a 3-21 record one year ago to post a 16-11 record in 2007-08. The Panthers, under head coach Molly Jones, finished fourth in the Heartland Conference with a 9-7 mark.


Hoops season ends with semifinal loss at Anderson
Hanover College's women's basketball team capped its 2007-2008 season with a 72-39 loss to top-seeded Anderson University in the semifinals of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament. The tilt was played Friday, Feb. 29, in Anderson, Ind.

Freshman center Molly Martin (Terre Haute, Ind.) scored 12 points and pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds to lead Hanover. Freshman guard Micah Whitted (Norman, Ind.) added 10 points off the bench for the Panthers, which closed the campaign with a 16-11 record.

Sophomore forward Tiffany Bowsher scored a game-high 17 points to lead four Anderson players in double figures. Junior forward Kayla Martin added 15 points for the Ravens, which improved to 18-7 on the season.

Martin scored six points to help Anderson open a 14-4 lead seven minutes into the game. The Ravens, behind 10 points from Bowsher, built a 38-18 cushion at the break. Hanover shot just 25.8 percent from the floor in the first period (8-of-31), including a 1-of-8 effort from three-point range.

Hanover cut the margin to 15 points (42-27) five minutes into the second half. Anderson, which shot 60.9 percent from the field in the second period (14-of-23), pushed the lead to 57-31 with 9:11 left. The Ravens led by as many as 37 points (70-33) in the final minutes.

Hanover's victory total was just one off the school's single-season record for victories. The Panthers totaled 17 wins in the 2000-2001, 1999-2000 and 1996-1997 seasons.

Anderson advances to the championship game to meet the winner of a contest between Manchester College and Transylvania University (Ky.). The HCAC championship will tip off at 2 p.m. in Anderson, Ind.

Panthers handle Franklin to advance to semifinals
The Hanover College women's basketball squad advanced to the semifinals of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament with an 80-68 victory against Franklin College, Tuesday, Feb. 26, in Collier Arena.

The Panthers, now 16-10 on the season, advance to battle No. 1 seed Anderson University in the first semifinal tilt. The game will tip off at 6 p.m., Friday, Feb. 29, in Anderson, Ind.

Martin, Franz, Hornaday and senior forward Kim Byrdwell (Danville, Ind.) each grabbed eight rebounds for Hanover, which outrebounded Franklin by a 60-39 margin. Freshman forward Chelle Bentz (Brookville, Ind.) led Hanover with a game-high 12 rebounds.

Courtney Swain poured in a game-high 25 points to lead Franklin, which capped its season with an 11-14 record. Heather Harper notched 12 points and 10 boards for the Grizzlies.

Despite shooting just 36.2 percent from the field (25-of-69), Hanover outscored Franklin 27-9 from the charity stripe. The Panthers made 27-of-40 free throw attempts, while the Grizzlies hit just 9-of-17 from the line and shot 33.8 percent from the floor (24-of-71).

Ahead 71-67 with 90 seconds left, Hanover held off the Grizzlies by hitting 9-of-12 free throws down the stretch. Bentz made four free throws in the final minute to help ice the win.

Hanover's victory snapped a 10-game losing streak against Franklin. The Panthers' last triumph in the series was a 77-70 win, Jan. 4, 2003.

Manchester edges Hanover for share of HCAC title
Manchester College's women's basketball squad defeated Hanover College, 60-52, in the regular-season finale Saturday, Feb. 23, in North Manchester, Ind.

With the victory, Manchester snagged a share of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference regular-season title with Anderson University. The Spartans (17-8; 12-4 HCAC) will be the No. 2 seed in the league tournament.

Despite the setback, Hanover will be the No. 4 seed in the tourney. The Panthers, 15-10 overall and 9-7 in the HCAC, will host Franklin College in a first-round tournament game, Tuesday, Feb. 26, in Collier Arena. The game will tip off at 7:30 p.m.

Freshman guard Lacey Hornaday (Rushville, Ind.) scored seven consecutive points to help Hanover bolt into a 25-15 lead with seven minutes left in the first period. The points would be the last of the half for the Panthers. Manchester outscored Hanover 16-0 the rest of the way and held a 31-25 lead at the intermission.

The Spartans led the entire second period. Hanover cut the margin to four points (44-40) with 10 minutes remaining. Manchester, however, countered with a 7-0 spurt to push the cushion to 51-40 with 5:29 to go.

Freshman center Molly Martin (Terre Haute, Ind.) hit two free throws and her first three-pointer of the season to help the Panthers cut the cushion to 54-50 with 1:21 left. Manchester converted 4-of-4 free throws in the final 30 seconds to ice the victory.

Hornaday led Hanover with 15 points and six rebounds. Martin added 14 points and a team-best seven rebounds for the Panthers.

Rachel Wilkinson totaled 16 points to pace Manchester. Kelley Meiklejohn added 15 points and a game-high nine boards for the Spartans.

Transy handles Hanover, 82-68, in HCAC clash
Transylvania University (Ky.) posted an 82-68 victory against Hanover College's women's basketball team in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference battle. The contest was played Wednesday, Feb. 20, in Lexington, Ky.

Freshman forward Torin Franz (Bloomington, Ind.) scored 16 points and collected nine rebounds to lead Hanover. Freshman guard Holly Vogel (North Manchester, Ind.) added 10 points and six caroms off the bench for the Panthers (15-9; 9-6 HCAC).

Kelsey McCarty scored a game-high 22 points to lead five Transylvania players in double figures. Brittany Henderlight chipped in 16 points and five assists for the Pioneers (14-10; 10-5 HCAC).

Hanover was within striking distance for the first 30 minutes of action. Transylvania, ahead 47-43 at the 10-minute mark of the second period, used a 15-2 run during a four-minute span to blow the game open. Henderlight scored four points during the decisive run, which pushed the Pioneers ahead 62-45 lead with 6:21 to go.

Hanover would get no closer than 10 points the rest of the way (75-65).

Hanover outlasts Bluffton in overtime
Hanover College's women's basketball team needed an extra five minutes, but handed Bluffton University (Ohio) a 72-68 loss in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference tilt, Saturday, Feb. 16, in Collier Arena.

Freshman forward Molly Martin (Terre Haute, Ind.) scored a game-high 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to fuel Hanover. Freshman forward Chelle Bentz (Brookville, Ind.) had eight points and a game-best 11 boards and freshman guard Audrey Siebrase (North Manchester, Ind.) added six points and seven assists off the bench for the Panthers (15-8; 9-5 HCAC).

Lindsay Bush and Kim Miller totaled 14 points apiece to lead Bluffton. Amanda Bell chipped in 11 points for the Beavers, which dipped to 8-15 overall and 2-12 in the league with the setback.

Martin hit a free throw and a short leaner to push Hanover ahead 67-64 two minutes into the extra period. The Panthers kept the three-point lead (71-68) on a Siebrase jumper with 18 seconds to go. Freshman guard Lacey Hornaday (Rushville, Ind.), who poured in 17 points for Hanover, hit a free throw with three seconds left to seal the victory.

In regulation, Miller scored four points during a 7-0 run which gave Bluffton a 62-55 lead with 3:48 left. Hornaday scored twice and Martin hit two free throws give the Panthers a 63-62 lead with one minute remaining.

Bluffton's Angie Lee hit a runner with 46 ticks left to give the Beavers a 64-63 lead. Hanover freshman forward Torin Franz (Bloomington, Ind.) hit 1-of-2 free throws with 29 seconds left to send the game into overtime locked at 64-64.

Franklin posts 77-65 win against Hanover
Hanover College dropped a 77-65 decision on the road against Franklin College's women's basketball squad. The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference tilt was played Wednesday, Feb. 13, in Franklin, Ind.

Freshman guard Audrey Siebrase (North Manchester, Ind.) scored a season-high 15 points off the bench to lead Hanover, which had posted two straight wins entering the intra-state clash with Franklin. Freshman center Molly Martin (Terre Haute, Ind.) and first-year guard Lacey Hornaday (Rushville, Ind.) added 11 points apiece for the Panthers (14-8; 8-5 HCAC).

Center Heather Harper scored a game-high 29 points for Franklin. Jennifer Redicker notched 12 points and seven rebounds for the Grizzlies (10-11; 7-6 HCAC).

Harper poured in 16 points in the first period to help Franklin spot a 40-30 lead at the intermission. The Grizzlies' Jennifer Kelly nailed a three-pointer and scored from inside to push Franklin's lead to 15 points (62-47) with nine minutes remaining.

Hanover cut the margin to eight points (71-63) with 1:43 left in the contest. Franklin, which scored its final 10 points from the charity stripe, made 6-of-6 free throws down the stretch to seal the win.

Balance leads to upset victory against Manchester
Hanover College's women's basketball squad knocked off Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference front-runner Manchester College, 62-55, Saturday, Feb. 9, in Collier Arena.

First-year players Torin Franz (Bloomington, Ind.), Lacey Hornday (Rushville, Ind.), Micah Whitted (Norman, Ind.) and Molly Martin (Terre Haute, Ind.) each scored in double figures to lead the balanced Hanover attack.

Franz and Hornaday each netted 14 points for Hanover, which has defeated each of the Heartland Conference's top two teams in the past week. Whitted scored 11 points and Martin added 10 points for the Panthers (14-7; 8-4 HCAC).

Junior forward Kelley Meiklejohn scored 14 points to pace Manchester. Senior guard Sarah Conwell added 13 points for the Spartans (14-7; 9-3 HCAC).

Meiklejohn hit two free throws to give Manchester a 40-35 lead with 14 minutes left in the second half. Hanover countered with a 17-2 run during a nine-minute stretch to bolt into a 52-42 lead with 5:40 remaining.

Franz, Hornaday and freshman forward Holly Vogel (North Manchester Ind.) each had two field goals in the game-altering run.

Conwell hit back-to-back three-pointers and Meiklejohn hit from long range to help Manchester ease within four points (58-54) with 1:25 to go.

Vogel sank two free throws with 14 seconds left to ice the triumph, Hanover's third win in its last four games.

Hanover holds off Anderson for HCAC victory
Hanover College's women's basketball squad shook off a slow start to post a 61-58 victory against Anderson University in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference outing. The contest was played Wednesday, Feb. 6, in Collier Arena.

Freshman center Molly Martin (Terre Haute, Ind.) tallied game highs with 21 points and 11 rebounds to lead Hanover, which scored just four points in the first eight minutes of the contest.

Freshman guard Lacey Hornaday (Rushville, Ind.) scored 19 points, including 13 in the second half, and freshman guard Holly Vogel (North Manchester, Ind.) added 11 points off the bench for the Panthers (13-7; 7-4 HCAC).

Junior forward Melenda Hawthorne scored 15 points to pace Anderson, which had won six consecutive games heading into the contest. Junior forward Kayla Martin added 12 points and team-high six rebounds for the Ravens (14-7; 9-4 HCAC).

Hanover trailed 15-4 eight minutes into the contest. The Panthers, which shot just 37.1 percent from the field in the game, outscored Anderson 29-9 through the next 16 minutes to grab a 33-24 lead four minutes into the second half.

Vogel hit back-to-back jumpers to give Hanover a 58-48 cushion with 2:46 to play. Anderson, behind two three-pointers from senior guard Lauren Vail, cut the margin to two points (60-58) with 11 seconds to go.

Hanover freshman forward Torin Franz (Bloomington, Ind.) made 1-of-2 free throws with nine seconds left to seal the win. The Ravens missed a hurried three-point attempt in the closing seconds and could not get off another shot.

Martin named HCAC athlete of the month
Hanover College basketball player Molly Martin (Terre Haute, Ind.) has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference's female athlete of the month for January.

Martin, a freshman center, averaged 16.3 points, 14.9 rebounds and 1.9 blocked shots in seven games for the Panthers in January. The squad posted a 4-3 record in those contests.

Martin, who had five double-doubles during the month, set a Hanover single-game record with 22 rebounds in an overtime loss against the College of Mount St. Joseph (Ohio) Jan. 30. She opened the month with 21 boards in an overtime loss at Anderson University Jan. 9.

For the season, Martin leads Hanover with 15.3 points and 11.5 rebounds per game.

Hanover, 12-7 overall, has a 6-4 record in Heartland Conference games. The Panthers will host Anderson Feb. 6 in Collier Arena.

 


Mount St. Joseph outlasts Panthers in overtime
The College of Mount St. Joseph (Ohio) posted a 75-66 overtime victory against Hanover College's women's basketball team, Wednesday, Jan. 30, in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Freshman center Molly Martin (Terre Haute, Ind.) and freshman forward Torin Franz (Bloomington, Ind.) each posted double-doubles in a losing effort for Hanover. Martin scored 17 points and set a school single-game record with 22 rebounds. Franz notched 13 points and 12 boards for the Panthers (12-7; 6-4 HCAC).

Kat O'Neill scored 16 points and had a game-best seven assists to lead Mount St. Joseph. Shanika Logan added 11 points for the Lions, which improved to 5-13 overall and 4-6 in the conference.

Mount St. Joseph scored six straight points to race to a 65-59 lead just one minute into the extra session. Franz scored from inside to eventually get Hanover within 69-66 with 1:34 to go.

The Lions, behind two buckets from Chelsey Doellman, scored the final six points of the contest for the final margin.

Martin's 22-rebound effort erased the previous mark of 21 boards. Martin grabbed 21 rebounds in an overtime loss at Anderson University Jan. 9. Former Hanover standout Andrea Spurgeon totaled 21 caroms in a 1999 game against the College of Wooster (Ohio).

Martin's bucket at :02 lifts Panthers to HCAC win
Freshman center Molly Martin (Terre Haute, Ind.) canned a jumper with two seconds remaining to lift Hanover College's women's basketball team to a 62-60 victory against Defiance College (Ohio). The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference battle was played Saturday, Jan. 26, in Defiance, Ohio.

Martin scored 17 points and grabbed a game-high 19 rebounds to lead Hanover to its fourth HCAC win in its last five league outings. The effort marker Martin's 10th double-double of the season and her sixth in the Panthers' last eight games.

Freshman foward Torin Franz (Bloomington, Ind.) chipped in 13 points and nine boards for Hanover, now 12-6 overall and 6-3 in the Heartland Conference.

Mandy White posted 17 points and 12 rebounds to lead Defiance (6-10; 2-7 HCAC). Holly Stein added 12 points and six boards for the Yellow Jackets, which shot just 27.2 percent from the floor in the game (22-of-79).

Martin scored Hanover's first six points and helped the Panthers mount a 9-2 lead in the opening minutes. Hanover led by as many as 12 points in the first half (28-16) and had a 29-21 lead at the break.

The Panthers held a two-possession lead for much of the second period. Defiance did tie the game three times in the second half, including a 60-60 deadlock on Stein's three-point play with 13 seconds left.

Frankling posts 77-69 win in HCAC tilt
Franklin College's women's basetball squad came into Collier Arena and posted a 77-69 victory against Hanover College in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference tilt, Wednesday, Jan. 23, in Collier Arena.

Freshman center Molly Martin (Terre Haute, Ind.) registered game-highs with 27 points and 14 rebounds for Hanover, which outrebounded Franklin 42-22 yet committed a season-high 29 turnovers.

Freshman forward Torin Franz (Bloomington, Ind.) added 12 points for the Panthers (11-6; 5-3 HCAC).

Sophomore center Heather Harper scored 23 points to spark Franklin. Sophomore guard Traci Lippold added 19 points and seven assists off the bench for the Grizzlies (7-9; 4-4 HCAC).

Franklin led for the final 29 minutes of the contest and held a 35-29 lead at the break. Hanover, behind 19 second-period points from Martin, stayed within two possessions until the final five minutes. Harper scored seven straight points during a two-minute stretch to help Franklin pull ahead 71-60 with just 2:20 to play.

The Grizzlies made 6-of-9 free throws in the final 90 seconds to seal the victory.

Second-half spurt gives Hanover win against Rose-Hulman
Hanover College's women's basektball basketball team posted a 68-58 win against the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference tussle, Saturday, Jan. 19, in Collier Arena.

Freshman guard Micah Whitted (Norman, Ind.) scored 13 points to lead three Hanover players in double figures. Senior forward Kim Byrdwell (Danville, Ind.) and freshman forward Torin Franz (Bloomington, Ind.) netted 11 points each for the Panthers (11-5; 5-2 HCAC).

Senior guard Jill Floyd scored a game-best 17 points to pace Rose-Hulman. Freshman center Donna Marsh had 11 points and a game-high 12 boards for the Engineers (7-9; 3-4 HCAC).

Leading 49-48 midway through the second half, Hanover outscored Rose-Hulman 15-3 during a three-minute span to build a 64-51 lead with six minutes left in the period. Whitted started the run with a three-pointer and had seven points during the spurt. Franz, who had nine points in the second stanza, netted back-to-back jumpers in the decisive run.

Rose-Hulman cut the cushion to 64-58 with 3:28 left. Franz hit a pair of free throws with 31 seconds left to seal the victory.

Panthers hold off Transy for 10th win
The Hanover College women's basketball squad held off Transylvania University (Ky.), 66-65, to pick up its 10th win of the season. The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference tilt was played Wednesday, Jan. 16, in Collier Arena.

Freshman guard Lacey Hornaday (Rushville, Ind.) scored a game-high 20 points to pace Hanover, which improved to 10-5 overall and 4-2 in the Heartland Conference.

Freshman center Molly Martin (Terre Haute, Ind.) had 13 points and 14 rebounds. Freshman forward Torin Franz (Bloomington, Ind.) added 16 points and freshman guard Chelle Bentz (Brookville, Ind.) had seven points and 12 boards for the Panthers.

Freshman center Sara Sexton scored 16 points and freshman guard Olivia Akridge added 14 points off the bench for Transylvania. The Pioneers, now 7-8 overall and 3-3 in the league, had five players in double figures.

Bentz and Franz hit back-to-back jumpers to give Hanover a 62-54 lead with 3:44 remaining. Amber Morrison scored twice from inside and Jessica Gilbert added a three-pointer to help Transylvania cut the margin to 66-65 with just 44 seconds to go.

Morrison misfired from close range with seven seconds left. Martin, fouled after grabbing the rebound, missed two free throws with five seconds remaining.

Transylvania failed to get off a shot in its final possession.

Second-half comeback lifts Hanover past Bluffton
Hanover College's women's basketball team came from behind to post a 73-64 win against Bluffton University (Ohio) in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference clash Saturday, Jan. 12, in Bluffton, Ohio.

First-year players accounted for 67 of Hanover's 73 points in the contest. Freshman guard Lacey Hornaday (Rushville, Ind.) led the squad with 20 points. Freshman forward Torin Franz (Bloomington, Ind.) added 19 points for the Panthers (9-5; 3-2 HCAC).

Angie Lee netted a game-high 22 points for Bluffton. Lindsay Bush tallied 10 points and a game-best 12 rebounds for the Beavers (6-8; 1-5 HCAC).

Hanover trailed 41-34 three minutes into the second half. The Panthers, behind nine points from freshman guard Micah Whitted (Norman, Ind.), used a 21-6 run during a five-minute span to bolt into a 55-47 lead with just more than 12 minutes remaining.

Bluffton pulled within three points (55-52) on Kim Miller's jumper with 9:26 to go. The Beavers, however, would hit only one field goal the rest of the way.

Hanover shot 61.5 percent from the field in the decisive second period (16-of-26). The Panthers made 7-of-12 three-pointers in the half, including five by Hornaday.

The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference battle was held Wednesday, Jan. 9, in Anderson, Ind.

Freshman forward Torin Franz (Bloomington, Ind.) had 12 points and seven rebounds for the Panthers (8-5; 2-2 HCAC), while classmate Micah Whitted (Norman, Ind.) added 11 points, five boards and five assists.

Martin, who has seven double-doubles this season, hit 11-of-19 field goals while netting her season-best scoring effort. The 21 rebounds matched Hanover's single-game record, set by Andrea Spurgeon in a Dec. 11, 1999, contest against The College of Wooster (Ohio).

Kayla Martin scored 24 points to pace Anderson. Mel Hawthorne added 10 points for the Ravens (7-5; 3-2 HCAC).

Anderson, with all of its points coming from the foul line, outscored Hanover 7-2 in the overtime session. The Ravens made 7-of-11 free throws in the extra five minutes of action.

Hanover battled back to grab a lead late in regulation. Anderson led by as many as 13 points (55-42) in the second period. The Panthers outscored the Ravens 18-2 during a six-minute span to grab a 60-57 lead with 3:38 to play.

Martin eventually scored back-to-back buckets from inside to give the Panthers a 64-61 lead with 1:30 left. Hawthorne forced the overtime with a three-pointer with just three seconds remaining.

Frosh lift Hanover to win against Allegheny
A collection of nine first-year players combined for 59 points to help lift Hanover College's women's basketball team to a 69-48 victory against Allegheny College (Pa.), Saturday, Dec. 29. Game was played as part of the Baldwin-Wallace College (Ohio) Invitational in Berea, Ohio.

Freshman forward Torin Franz (Bloomington, Ind.) scored 15 points and pulled down 11 rebounds and freshman center Molly Martin (Terre Haute, Ind.) had 13 points and 12 boards to spark Hanover to the consolation-game win.

Freshman center Sarah Cobine (Bloomfield, Ind.) added a season-high 11 points off the bench and junior forward Rachel Walters (Ladoga, Ind.) grabbed a game-best 14 rebounds for Hanover (8-4), which had lost its last two outings - both against nationally-ranked opponents.

Sophomore forward Emilie Simone scored a game-high 23 points to lead Allegheny, which dropped to 4-7 with the setback.

After holding a 31-28 lead at the intermission, Franz scored 10 points to help Hanover stretch the cushion to 44-34 just five minutes into the second half.

Walters hit back-to-back jumpers to give the Panthers a 53-40 lead midway through the second period. Martin made two straight jumpers to push the advantage to 58-42 with six minutes to go.

Hanover led by as many as 23 points (69-46) in the closing seconds.

Baldwin-Wallace handles Panthers in tourney opener
Host Baldwin-Wallace College (Ohio) opened its holiday invitational with a 73-56 victory against Hanover College's women's basketball squad. The contest was held Friday, Dec. 28, in Berea, Ohio.

Freshman center Molly Martin (Terre Haute, Ind.) registered game-highs with 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead Hanover. Sophomore forward Katie Fischesser (Connersville, Ind.) added nine points off the bench and junior forward Rachel Walters (Ladoga, Ind.) had six points and seven boards for the Panthers (7-4).

Sophomore center Ariel Brough scored 14 points and senior forward Carly Flowers added 11 points and eight rebounds for Baldwin-Wallace, which won its fourth straight game and improved to 9-1 with the triumph.

Baldwin-Wallace, ranked 24th in the nation, jumped out to a 24-12 lead midway through the opening period. The Panthers, behind 10 consecutive points from Martin, outscored the Yellow Jackets 15-2 during a five-and-one-half minute span to snag a 27-26 lead with 4:44 to go in the first half.

Hanover, which turned the ball over 24 times in the game, would not lead again.

Baldwin-Wallace got five straight points from sophomore forward Serena Farage to grab a 31-27 lead. The Yellow Jackets held a 37-34 lead at the intermission and pushed the margin to eight points (48-40) at the 15-minute mark.

Baldwin-Wallace held a double-digit cushion for the final seven minutes of the game.
