Hanover fourth at Centre Invitational
Hanover College's women's golf team tied for fourth place with a 341 at the Jim English-Centre College (Ky.) Invitational. The 18-hole tournament was played Thursday, Sept. 9, at the Danville Country Club in Danville, Ky.
Sophomore Molly Burpo (Martinsville, Ind.) placed third in the event to lead Hanover. She fired a seven-over-par 80 on the 5,817-yard course.
Freshman Becky Roberts (Avon, Ind.) was among seven golfers tied for eighth place with an 85. Sophomore Natosha Wood (Columbia City, Ind.) finished 15th with an 86. Freshman Bridget Neal (Fort Thomas, Ky.) rounded out Hanover's scoring with a 90 to place 22nd.
Bellarmine University (Ky.) earned the team title with 327 strokes. Transylvania University (Ky.) was second with a 334, while Kentucky Wesleyan University finished third just one stroke behind (335). Host Centre tied Hanover with a 341.
Transylvania's Janca Millett was the individual medalist. She posted a two-over-par 75.
