Jordan House (Sigma Chi House next to Lambda)

The former Sigma Chi house is now known as the Jordan House until it is re-inhabited by members of the fraternity. This name is derived from the last name of one of the Sigma Chi founders, Isaac M. Jordan, who also produced the well-known minimum criteria for membership in Sigma Chi guidelines known as the Jordan Standard.  This is a name that is significant to members of Sigma Chi, again recognizing the previous use of the building, but not specifically identifying it as a fraternity house to other members of the campus community. In the time period when members of Sigma Chi do not inhabit this building, the building previously known as College House should now be referred to as the Sigma Chi house. Today, the Jordan House is used to house about 20 upper-class men.
