Greek Life can offer many benefits and rewards to those who choose to join an organization. Students who take advantage of what Greek Life has to offer can enjoy many learning experiences and opportunities associated with their Greek membership.

Compliment to Classroom Learning
Greek membership is a compliment to many of the objectives taught in the classroom. The Greek community offers the opportunity for practicing, experimenting, and utilizing tools learned in college courses as well as practical life skills any adult needs to know. For example: chapter leaders have a chance to create and manage large programming budgets, members learn and practice public speaking skills, effective meeting management, peer motivation, leadership skills, conflict resolution, interpersonal relationship skills, decision making processes and skills, time management skills, and a myriad of other invaluable skills needed in the "real world". These chapter and membership experiences can easily translate into marketable job skill sets.

Networking and After College Opportunities
Greek membership has the potential to put members in contact with alumni who have connections! During the college experience graduated chapter members can offer job advice, internships, or put members in contact with others who can help them get connected. Chapter membership is also an excellent resume builder, with committee membership or chapter leadership positions easily translating into marketable job experiences. It is also exciting and comforting to think that no matter where members end up after they leave Hanover there will be a Chapter Alumni Association there to help you meet others and become involved in your new community. Greek membership truly is a life long association!!

National Greek Life Facts:

• A University of Missouri study found that Greeks throughout the U.S. and Canada are more involved on their campuses and rate their overall university experience better than their non-Greek counterparts.
• The same study found that Greeks are more involved in their communities; and give more generously to their alma maters.
• A U.S. Government study showed that 71% of Greek students graduate, while just over 50% of their non-Greek counterparts do so.
• Greeks form the largest network of volunteers in the U.S.-Nationally, Greeks volunteer approximately 10 million hours of community service annually.
• Nationally, Greek organizations are the largest and most visible value-based student organizations.
