Five Questions with Jake

Your guilty pleasure: I have an addiction to ice cream. Ice cream is a typical part of my dinner.

Favorite quote: "How do you go from where you are to where you wanna be? And I think you have to have an enthusiasm for life. You have to have a dream, a goal. And you have to be willing to work for it"- Jim Valvano "When you can do the common things of life in an uncommon way, you will command the attention of the world"- George Washington Carver

Person who pushes you or makes you better: I'd have to say my longtime running partner Clayton Bowie. He pushed me to my limits on almost every workout. After the 2013 high school track season, he showed me how hard I needed to work to achieve the highest amount of success. Unfortunately, I couldn't compete at his level during our last season together, but I doubt I would be running in college if he hadn't trained with me.

Who do you pattern your game after: My race strategy originates from many of my high school teammates. I often have a new strategy for each race, whether it be go out hard and slow back down, run steady, or go out comfortable and pick it up.

Any stupid human tricks or abilities: I can snap with my pinkie finger. But other than that, I'm a pretty boring person.
