Indie pop duo Coast Modern will headline Hanover College's Concert on the Quad. The band will perform Friday, Oct. 5, as part of Hanover’s 91st-annual Homecoming celebration.

Coast Modern’s West Coast vibe and ability to creatively blend such genres as surf, psychedelia, reggae, rock and rap have made the band a crowd favorite at live festivals such as SXSW, Bumbershoot and Life is Beautiful.

The Los Angeles-based duo, which features Luke Atlas and Coleman Trapp, released its self-titled debut album in the summer of 2017. The band continues to build a major following while touring with such acts as BØRNS, The Wombats and The Temper Trap, as well as growing online exposure.

Coast Modern has millions of streams on the strength of hit songs such as “Hollow Life,” “Guru” and “Animals.” “Hollow Life,” released in 2015, has collected more than 19 million plays on Spotify. “Guru,” released in 2016, reached the top of the charts on HypeMachine.

The concert will begin at 7 p.m. with opening act Damus King.

General admission tickets are just $10. Students of all ages will be admitted free with school ID. [TICKETS]

Coast Modern's appearance is made possible through the Campus Activities Board with additional support from the Hanover Enrichment Series.
