Hughes came to Hanover in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Ball State University. Prior to joining Hanover's staff, she worked as an online educational advisor in Indianapolis where she assisted individuals seeking degrees or professional certificates entirely through distance learning.
At Hanover, Hughes began her career as the office assistant where she provided administrative support in the day-to-day operations for the office. She also assisted in the implementation of on- and off-campus activities such as Homecoming, class reunions, Hanover Day at Churchill Downs, Pub Night and Senior Banquet. In Jan. 2016, she became the assistant director and continued working with the Alumni Advantage ID Card, Legacy Outreach Program, License Plate Program and merchandise marketing and distribution.
In Sept. 2016, Hughes began her role as the director of alumni relations where she will be responsible for the planning and implementation of programs and projects that strategically engage alumni in strengthening programs and provide tangible benefits to alumni and current students.
Originally from Crawfordsville, Ind., Hughes and her husband, Dan, live in Madison, Ind., and are the parents of three children, Jessica, Corbin and Grayson.
