Biography

Hometown: Jefferson County, Indiana

What sort of things can students seek your help with? 1. Care for sick and well students, faculty and staff. 2. Educate patients on their illnesses. 3. Educate on potential illnesses to help prevent them. Students can seek my help with their health and wellness. I can talk with them about physical, mental and sexual health.

What did you do prior to Hanover? I worked on an OB unit delivering babies, caring for postpartum moms and the newborns in the nursery for 17 years.

What do you love about Hanover? I love caring for the students and getting to know them. I chose Hanover because they chose me. It is close to my home and Hanover is in the town I grew up in.

What's your favorite place on campus or in Madison? I like sitting on the back porch of the CC to have lunch when it is sunny.

Where have your (international) travels taken you, and what has been your favorite place? I have only been to Punta Cana.

If you could visit one place in the world, where would it be - and why? I would visit Africa to sit with the gorillas. I am fascinated with them.

What are some of your interests, and what sort of things keep you busy? I like to spend time with family doing simple things like having dinner together or swimming in our pool. We also love to camp and go to many sporting activities. I like to watch scary movies and shows. I love to travel. I love coffee. I also enjoy lazy rainy days chilling.

What's your pump-up song? I don’t have just one. I like all types of music ranging from country, classical, Christian, rock, and pop.

Is there anything that you've always wanted to do but never have? I would love to go to Hawaii.

What's something that your coworkers might not know about you? I loathe mopping my wood floors at home!

What advice would you give to students who are beginning their college careers? Get a set routine for studying and hanging with friends. Eat right, don’t party too much, and exercise. A holistic approach helps.

 

What’s your favorite way that you get to help/work with students? I love seeing them healed and doing better after they have been to see me.
