What is Hanover After Hours?

Hanover After Hours is a new way to get together or attend events with Hanover friends doing the kinds of things you want to do within your own community.  Whether you live in Indianapolis, Denver, Chicago or France, you can designate a pay-as-you-go activity and we’ll help get the word out! 

Hosting a Hanover After Hours gathering is easy and is a great way to reach out to alumni in your area who share the same interests you do. Guidelines and helpful hints are available to help you along the way. 

Are you interested in creating your own After Hours Event? 

Follow these simple steps  - Easy as 1-2-3!

  1. Decide what type of activity you would like to host. The possibilities are endless.
  2. Choose a date for the gathering.
  3. Complete the Hanover After Hours form below.

Guidelines and helpful hints

Examples of Hanover After Hours things to do

  1. Run a 5K
  2. Cook out ‘pitch-in’ in the park
  3. Go cycling in the city
  4. Local festivals
  5. Meet at your favorite pub
  6. Go to a concert, restaurant, ballgame, boating, wine tour trail, etc.
  7. Coffeehouse chat
  8. Yoga, Zumba or rock climbing
  9. Museum, zoo, concert… whatever you want to try
  10. Athletic games
  11. Horseback riding

Suggested Timeline

  • 4 weeks in advance: Complete online After Hours form/Notify Hanover
  • 2 weeks in advance: Contact venue if applicable (ie: restaurant or pub) to give them a heads up your group plans to be there
  • Event/Gathering Date: Arrive 20-30 minutes early to greet others as they arrive. 
    • Wear Hanover attire
    • Share how to host Hanover After Hours
  • Follow up: Share pictures with Hanover Alumni Relations           

Ways you can help get the word out about your Hanover After Hours activity

  1. Invite through your Facebook Page
  2. Twitter
  3. Local newspaper (free event listings)
  4. Email all alumni on your list and ask them to do the same
  5. Text or call your friends

Host Duties

  1. Ask everyone to wear Hanover gear in any  promotion, done to make it easier to find one another
  2. As the host, greet everyone as they arrive and thank them for attending
  3. Take pictures
  4. If the gathering is cancelled, or you can no longer attend, notify Hanover College Alumni Relations ASAP.
