Homecoming 2017

Three students showing Hanover College pride

Join us on Saturday, October 14, 2017 for Homecoming!

Homecoming is a festive time for the College to welcome back its alumni – young and old, near and far – and to celebrate its current student body. During this celebratory time, we invite alumni, students and the entire community to join us in a host of fun activities. There’s something for everyone!

REUNIONS - Classes that end in 2's and 7's

It is time to celebrate with the classes that end in 2's and 7's! We invite you to join us on campus Friday, October 13 and Saturday, October 14 for the 2017 Milestone Reunion Celebration and Homecoming, celebrating the classes of 1967 (50 year) , 1977 (40 year), and 1992 (25 year)! New in 2017, will be our Golden Reunion for anyone who graduated 50+ years ago. If you are interested in serving on your milestone reunion committee, please, contact hughes@hanover.edu.

Alumni of all class years are encouraged to return; however, and if you wish to help plan a non-milestone class reunion (classes that end in 2's and 7's), please contact alumni@hanover.edu and an alumni staff member will contact you soon.

Reunion Chairs NEeded

Each year, the Office of Alumni Relations looks for representatives from each reunion year to be a Reunion Chair. The Class Reunion Chair (or co-chair) serves as the key volunteer for his/her class in preparation for their class reunion and Homecoming Weekend. The Class Reunion Chair serves as the primary liaison to your class reunion committee and maintains communication with the Office of Alumni Relations throughout the year.

Some of the specific responsibilities of the Class Reunion Chair include the following:
• Organize committee members from volunteers and personal contacts within your class, if working with a committee.
• Lend your name to the reunion letters sent by the Alumni Relations Office.
• Generate email letters, with the guidance of the Alumni Relations Office, and work with committee members to do same, if working with a committee.
• Communicate expectations to your committee, if working with a committee.
• Communicate with classmates over the course of the year to generate enthusiasm for your reunion.
• Provide guidance in class-related matters.
• Suggest faculty to be a guest speaker at your reunion.
• Plan a program agenda for your reunion, if desired.
• Arrive before the beginning of your reunion event(s) and greet classmates and guests.
• Use of social media is encouraged.
• Write a short post-Homecoming report and submit to Director of the Alumni Relations Office.

Reunion Planning Committee

The Class Reunion Committee Member supports the work of the Class Reunion Chair(s) and helps to encourage attendance at your reunion and Homecoming Weekend. Specific responsibilities of the committee member include the following:
• Maintain communication with the Class Reunion Chair.
• Make phone calls to encourage attendance at your reunion and Homecoming.
• Participate in conference calls or email communication with other committee members as needed.
• Attend Homecoming Weekend.

Take a moment to remember your time at HC- the professors we learned from and the administrators and fellow classmates who helped shape our future as members of the Hanover College community. Now, as we celebrate this milestone reunion, it is time to give back.

The Reunion 2017 classes can make an impact in the lives of HC students by funding a scholarship and providing the life-changing experience we were granted to a future student. Your support will also ensure that Hanover College continues creating those extraordinary learning experiences valued by our students, their parents, and thousands of alumni.

Contact Christy Hughes, Director of Alumni Relations, if you are interested in leading Reunion Giving for your class.

Together, we can make a difference.
