Hanover College’s 92-annual Homecoming celebration was one to remember as a massive crowd of alumni, families, friends and trustees converged on campus Oct. 4-6 for a wide range of events.

Homecoming 2019 – Cirque De Hanover - featured 13 reunions for class years ending in 4s and 9s, with milestone gatherings for the classes of 1969 (50 years), 1979 (40) and 1994 (25). In addition, the Golden Panthers Reunion welcomed Hanoverians from the classes of 1954, 1959 and 1964. Reunions were held in the tailgate lot during Hanoverfest, as well as the J. Graham Brown Campus Center, Ogle Center and downtown Madison, Ind.

The Oct. 4 events featured open classes throughout the day, as well as campus tours, welcome reception and concert featuring Brighton Boys, a Pennsylvania-based band, in the Withrow Activities Center.

Saturday, Oct. 5, opened with The Scenic, the College’s annual five-kilometer run/walk through campus. Professors Kimm Hollis and Madlen Batchvarova performed a rousing four-hand recital in Fitzgibbon Recital Hall and Linda Cunningham Morice ’70 presented her unique look at Long College for Women’s place in Hanover history.

The Men’s Room, a four-piece band featuring professors Bill Bettler and Craig Philipp, performed in the tailgate lot at Hanoverfest prior to the football team’s 70-0 thrashing of Anderson University at Alumni Stadium. Musician John Rush capped the evening with a concert in the Withrow Center.

Sunday, Oct. 6, President Lake Lambert delivered the sermon at Hanover Presbyterian Church and Rev. Catherine Knott was officially installed as the College’s Ball Family Chaplain. After the service, Dr. Gary Ball and his wife, Allyson, were recognized for the establishment of the Ball Family Chaplaincy during an event at the Brown Memorial Chapel

  • Homecoming 2020 will be held on Saturday, October 10 (Reunion gatherings for classes ending in 5s and 0s for class years 1955 to 2015)
    • This will be the same weekend that Madison holds its yearly Soup, Stew, and Chili Brew - it's how the game schedule fell for 2020!
    • Hotel rooms will be limited.
  • Homecoming 2021 will be held on Saturday, October 2 (Reunion gatherings for classes ending 6s and 1s for class years 1956 to 2016)
