Hanover’s volleyball team defends its Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference title against Anderson University, while the Panthers host Earlham College in a league gridiron battle. The newest members of the Athletic Hall of Fame will be honored at halftime of the football game, along with athletes from Hanover’s 1972-1976 football teams.

Led by late head coach Rick Carter, the era featured 12 all-Americans and jump-started a string of 15 consecutive winning seasons for the Panthers, pushing Hanover to the forefront of Indiana small-college football. The Panthers posted a 36-11 record during the five-year span with four straight Hoosier-Buckeye Collegiate Conference titles, back-to-back undefeated regular seasons, including 28 consecutive regular-season wins, and two semi-final appearances in the NAIA national tournament.

History

Since 1995, the Hanover College Athletic Hall of fame has recognized individuals who have served Hanover athletics with distinction, either by virtue of their performance as a coach, member of one or more athletic teams or by meritorious efforts on behalf of athletics, either as an undergraduate or in the years after leaving Hanover College.

The nominee's accomplishments after leaving Hanover (professional and/or community) and continuing interest in Hanover, through service and involvement in college activities, are additional factors.
