HCAC RELEASE

GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference recognized its 2016-17 winter student-athletes that received the Tom Bohlsen academic all-conference award on Friday afternoon.

Overall, there were over 170 student-athletes from the HCAC winter sports that were honored with the academic award. From Hanover, 11 student-athletes competed this past winter and met the academic requirements for the award.

The Tom Bohlsen academic all-conference award is given to student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher. The cumulative GPA is based on an athlete’s classroom performance through the end of the semester preceding the end of the winter sport season.

The award recognizes the contributions of Bohlsen, a 1957 graduate of Hanover College, who served as the first commissioner of the HCAC from 1998-2008.
