HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover volleyball team wraps up the non-conference tournament portion of its schedule with the four-match HCAC-OAC Crossover at Baldwin Wallace (Ohio) this weekend.

Despite coming off a 2-3 week, the Panthers bring a 10-3 overall mark into the conference crossover event Friday and Saturday, Sept. 22 and 23. Hanover opens HCAC-OAC Crossover play with 4 and 8 p.m. matches against Capital (Ohio) and No. 22 Ohio Northern Friday, before wrapping up with contests against Baldwin Wallace (Ohio) and John Carroll (Ohio) Saturday.

Senior Kelsey Brandvik (Indianapolis, Ind.) is coming off a strong showing at the DePauw Invitational this past weekend, where she was named to the All-Tournament team. Brandvik logged 39 kills and a .315 hitting percentage in the four-match tournament, while logging double-digit kills in three times.

Ranking among the career active leaders in three NCAA Division III statistical categories is senior Courtney Crawford (Louisville, Ky.). Crawford’s career hitting percentage of .347 is second best in the nation, while her blocks per set, 0.96, and total block count, 384, are also second most among active Division III participants.

Defensively, the Panthers logged 41 team blocks in five matches last week, moving them into sixth in the country this season with 96.5 total rejections. Crawford and junior Claire Dennis (Bloomington, Ind.) both rank among the top three in the HCAC this season in blocks per set. Dennis is second in the conference at 1.17 per set, and is coming off a 15-block week in four matches, including 11 rejections against Thomas More (Ky.) last Wednesday.

Senior Monique Huynh (Indianapolis, Ind.) has the second most digs in the HCAC through 13 games with 235. Huynh’s dig total is also good enough for a top 30 spot in Division III.

Hanover has had mixed success over the last three HCAC-OAC Crossovers, posting a 5-7 mark since 2014. The Panthers hosted the eight-team event last season, going 2-2, with victories over Capital and Muskingum.

The Blue and Red’s opponents this weekend have a combined 32-18 record this year, a .640 winning percentage. Highlighting this weekend’s matches are contests against 13-0 Baldwin Wallace and 9-3 Ohio Northern.
