Hall Director
Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic individual to work closely with an existing staff and within a residential living unit to ensure programmatic, safety, and wellness needs are met.
The Hall Director supervises Resident Assistants. The primary function of the position is to direct and oversee the operations of the residence hall including staffing, student development, training, education, administrative and managerial responsibilities, facilitates management and professional development. Additionally, the Hall Director serves in the central housing staff and collateral assignments when requested. The Hall Director must be committed to student development and capable of responding in a positive manner to a wide variety of situations.

Director of Human Resources
Description: We are accepting applications for Director of Human Resources. She/he reports to the Vice President for Business Affairs and takes responsibility for all human resources functions. The position prefers a Master’s Degree in Human Resources or Management, PHR or SPHR certification, and work experience in a college or university setting. Minimum experience should include at least seven years of successful and progressive human resources work.
The Director of Human Resources is responsible for the development and the administration of a comprehensive human resources operational program that includes, but is not limited to, employment, compensation, benefits, staff development, and employee services. This position recommends, plans, and carries out policies relating to all phases of human resources activity.
Essential Duties:
1. Communicates with appropriate personnel on College policy regarding equal employment opportunities, recruiting, appraisals, discipline, termination, and employee benefits.
2. Assists appropriate Business Office personnel in reviewing current salary/wage budget line items, prepares staff raise letters for appropriate signature, and coordinates updated salary and wage figures with Payroll.
3. Performs administrative duties associated with human resources including, but not limited to:
• coordinating periodic performance review process;
• maintaining and updating Employee Manuals and ensuring distribution of updates;
• preparing or overseeing preparation of employee Summary Annual Reports for distribution;
• participating in national, state, and local wage and benefit surveys on behalf of the College;
• utilizing applicable human resources data to assist in preparation and to analyze and maintain records required by federal or state government (e.g., Retirement Plan Discrimination testing, IPEDs, and similar data);
• preparing federal and state reports and forms (e.g., Form 5500s, IPEDs, and similar reports); and
• overseeing preparation of employee separation letters, and/or related documentation; conducting exit interviews, as appropriate.
4. Manages, coordinates, and monitors the College’s recruitment process:
• reviews updated job descriptions, makes recommendations to department heads in formulating new job descriptions, and performs all Compensation/Classification Policy requirements including rating new/revised descriptions and policy maintenance;
• with assistance, recruits employees, which entails contacting applicable local and national media, to fill vacant or new positions, reviews proposed vacancy notices for adherence to applicable employment laws, and
• meets or otherwise communicates with prospective employees to explain the College's benefits package.
5. Reviews, corrects as necessary, and maintains insured benefits contracts and documents; keeps record of insurance coverage; forwards information on specific employees as pertains to (e.g., Retirement Plan, and personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance appraisals, terminations, etc.).
6. Reviews employee tuition remission and tuition exchange requests for compliance with College policy.
7. Studies legislation and national, regional, state, and local association information bulletins to assess human resources industry and legal trends.
8. Participates in College strategic planning, goal setting, and assessments. Prepares budget of human resources operations; reviews monthly printouts from the Business Office for accuracy.
9. Works with the Coordinator of Employee Services to set goals and prioritize duties. Oversees the work of the Coordinator including, but not limited to:
• Timely processing, billing, payment, open enrollment, etc., of all components in the College’s voluntary and mandatory benefits package;
• coordinating and conducting periodic education or informational meetings relating to fringe benefits (e.g., medical benefits, retirement plan).
• personalizing and distributing benefits publication(s), booklet(s), etc.;
• overseeing preparation of FMLA leave notices; and
• filing all worker’s comp paperwork and timely completion of OSHA Survey of Occupational Illnesses and Injuries.
10. Coordinates with Academic Affairs in securing appropriate citizenship status for new faculty members.
11. Performs related tasks and duties as assigned or as required.
Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a closely related field. Masters Degree in Human Resources or Management preferred. Experience: A minimum of seven years of successful and progressive work experience in the human resources area. Experience in a college or university setting preferred. PHR or SPHR certification preferred.

Director of The Center for Business Preparation
Description: Hanover College’s Center for Business Preparation was established in 2004.
This prestigious program is nationally-recognized for its innovative approach to business education in the context of the liberal arts. The program’s strength is its ability to link a student’s liberal arts education to business careers broadly defined including careers in the for-profit, non-profit and public sectors. The program accomplishes this goal through a highly integrated combination of classroom work and experiential learning opportunities including a project-based internship and actual consulting project. The program relies upon collaborative partnerships with academic departments at the College and external institutions, including business organizations, civic associations and non-profit organizations. The Director position is a tenure-track faculty position, and the Director provides leadership for all endeavors necessary for the fulfillment of the Center’s mission and the achievement of its goals.
The Director’s position is a faculty position; an M.B.A. or an M.A.is required and proven director or higher level experience working with Fortune 1000/Global 500 companies and/or entrepreneurial ventures is preferred. Demonstrated ability working as an academic senior-level administrator and faculty member a plus. Experienced non-profit and public sector leaders are also encouraged to apply.
Essential Functions:
1. Provide strategic direction and promote external relations to support experiential learning opportunities (internships and consulting projects).
2. Oversee the academic program’s administrative operations and supervise administrative staff and coordinate faculty resources.
3. Collaborate with Hanover College departments such as the Career Center, Admissions, Marketing and Development in order to help those departments promote the Center for Business Preparation among prospective students, employers, business leaders and alumni.
4. Integrate Center for Business Preparation initiatives and projects with Hanover College’s academic departments. Collaborate with academic departments to identify synergistic educational opportunities.
5. Teach two to three classes per year in the program. Provide academic advising to students in the program and supervise interns.
6. Communicate and work directly with the center for Business Preparation’s Leadership Council and Advisory Board to identify program needs. Solicit input on the program’s strategic direction.
7. Write newsletter for program participants and supporters.
8. Provide ongoing program assessment.
Required Skills:
The Director of the Hanover College Center for Business Preparation must:
• Have an interdisciplinary approach to business education.
• Have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to effectively represent and promote the Center for Business Preparation and Hanover College to a broad audience.
• Be a strong mentor for students enrolled in the program and supervise student internships.

Admission Counselor

Director of Annual Giving
Description: Hanover College is seeking a highly motivated and energetic individual to fill this position. The Director of Annual Giving is responsible for meeting specific fund-raising goals by conceiving, planning and implementing the Annual Fund program in support of the current operations of the College. The Director meets annually defined goals for unrestricted giving by coordinating, designing and implementing the systematic solicitation of College constituencies. Methods include personal visits, strategic direct mail appeals, alumni and student phonathons, and web-based programs. They provide support to comprehensive campaign initiatives and special fund-raising projects as assigned and also provides general support for and participation in activities sponsored by the development office and the College in general, including week-end and evening work. Job responsibilities also include stewardship for current annual giving donors and coordinating the young alumni giving program.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. One to three years experience in fundraising preferred, including experience personally soliciting donor prospects; understanding of direct mail and web based marketing; ability to work with people; team oriented; superior writing and public speaking skills; ability to motivate others; knowledge of and commitment to the value of a liberal arts education; high energy, personal initiative, and a positive attitude.

Assistant Director for Admission and Financial Assistance
Description: This is a full-time, 12 month, administrative position with benefits. Primary responsibilities include traveling/recruiting students in assigned regions through high school visits and college fairs, making presentations to a diverse constituency, interviewing prospective students, recommending admission decisions and assisting with on and off-campus recruiting events.
Additional responsibilities focus on assisting the director of financial assistance in administering federal loan programs, including processing electronic aid requests, managing disbursements of aid, counseling students and parents on financial matters, presenting topics related to financial aid rules and regulations, and other related duties as assigned. Some weekend and evening hours are required throughout the year.

Head Women’s Soccer Coach
Description: Hanover College, a selective Division III liberal arts college in southern Indiana, invites applicants for a full-time position as Head Women’s Soccer Coach. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: all aspects of planning, managing, and maintaining a successful soccer program. Assistant Athletic Trainer
Description: Hanover College, a Division III liberal arts college in southern Indiana, invites applicants for a full-time position as an athletic trainer. The successful candidate will be part of an athletic training staff that already includes two full-time ATCs and a full-time PT. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting in all aspects of the athletic training program including evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and documentation of athletic injuries; supervision of student workers, operation of the training room, athletic practices, and competitions including some travel. The successful candidate must have good oral and written communication skills to interact with physicians, coaches, faculty, and administrators. There are opportunities to work summer camps.
Qualifications: NATABOC certification, Indiana state licensed or eligible, First Aid/CPR/AED certification required. Instructor certification preferred. Experience working with football is a plus.

Circulation/ILL Assistant
Description: Hanover College seeks an evening Supervisor (Sunday through Thursday) for the library’s Circulation Department. Primary responsibilities include supervising student employees and providing circulation/ILL services. This person will also be in charge of late night library operations and will be responsible for closing the library. This is a full-time, clerical position.
Qualifications: Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be proficient with computer software. High School diploma required; related experience and Associate or Bachelor degree preferred.
