Hanover named among The Princeton Review’s best colleges for 2026
Hanover College has once again earned inclusion in The Princeton Review’s annual college guide. Hanover’s is profiled in “The Best 391 Colleges: 2026 Edition,” the publication’s 34th-annual collection of the best colleges and universities.
“The colleges we profile in our ‘Best Colleges’ book are a truly select group,” said Rob Franek, editor-in-chief of The Princeton Review and the book’s lead author. “They constitute only about 15 percent of America’s nearly 2,400 four-year institutions”
Published since 1992, The Princeton Review’s college guide gathers results through an extensive survey sent to 170,000 students at the 391 institutions included in the publication. The surveys were conducted in 2024–25 and/or the previous two academic years.
“The Best 391 Colleges: 2026 Edition” lists the schools in alphabetical order. Students rate their own colleges on dozens of topics and report on their campus experiences, covering such topics as academics, amenities, demographics, extracurricular activities, financial aid, career services, politics, quality of life, social scene and much more. The overall collection of schools is further divided into 50 lists, each featuring the top 25 colleges/universities in the specific categories.
“The colleges that make our ranking lists do so entirely as a result of their own students’ opinions of them,” noted Franek. “It is what the students attending the colleges in this book tell us about their experiences at their schools that determines on which lists the schools appear in our book.”
Hanover was noted as one of the top colleges in a 12-state section of the Midwest. The College was also lauded for its sustainability efforts.
The Princeton Review’s “The Best 391 Colleges: 2026 Edition” is now available online and at booksellers nationwide.
