GENERAL INSTITUTION INFORMATION
Hanover College is authorized by name by the State of Indiana: complaints may be filed with the Indiana Commission for Higher Education.
Hanover College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), the successor to the former North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (dissolved 2014). The HLC is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation as the regional accrediting organization for nineteen states in the North Central region of the United States. The College’s most recent reaffirmation of accreditation occurred in AY 2009 – 2010, with the next reaffirmation of accreditation scheduled for AY 2019 – 2020. Hanover has elected for its accreditation “pathway” the Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP), which emphasizes continuous improvement in all areas of operation.
Hanover’s teacher-certification programs for elementary and secondary education is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). The certification programs also comply with all regulations and requirements of the Indiana Department of Education.
