Hanover College Board extends President Lambert’s contract through June 2030
The early extension reflects the Board’s confidence in Lambert’s leadership as Hanover prepares for its Bicentennial and future growth.
The Hanover College Board of Trustees has voted to extend the contract of President Dr. Lake Lambert through June 2030 – three years beyond its original expiration date of June 2027. This early extension underscores the Board’s strong confidence in Lambert’s leadership and vision for the College’s future.
“President Lake Lambert has been a transformative leader for Hanover College and will continue to guide the institution for years to come,” said Elaine Kops-Bedel ’74, chair of the Board of Trustees. “This extension vote demonstrates our unwavering support for Lake and the tireless work he has put in on behalf of Hanover.”
Since joining Hanover in 2015, Lambert has achieved significant milestones, including launching new academic programs in engineering and nursing, introducing doctoral programs in physical and occupational therapy – the first graduate programs in a century – and successfully guiding the College through the COVID-19 pandemic – one of the most challenging times in its history. In addition, Hanover recently announced the $110 million Bicentennial Campaign – the largest in College history – under the leadership of President Lambert.
“Serving Hanover College has been the honor and challenge of my lifetime, and I am deeply committed to the long-term flourishing of the College,” said President Lambert. “Kelly and I are humbled by the faith and trust the Board continues to place in us. We will spend the next four years working even harder to ensure Hanover continues to thrive.”
The extension comes as Hanover prepares for its bicentennial in 2027, the final phase of the Bicentennial Campaign, and the completion of the Hanover Stands Above strategic plan. Lambert has played a pivotal role in all of these initiatives and is leading efforts to develop the College’s next strategic plan for 2027–2030.
“As we approach our Bicentennial and beyond, the Board and I cannot imagine a better leader for these times than Lake,” added Kops-Bedel. “He has proven to be fearless, creative, and strategic, and has built a strong leadership team that shares his vision and is equally committed to Hanover’s success.”
President Lambert’s new contract takes effect immediately and runs through June 2030.
