Community Development

In 2022, The Hanover Board of Trustees made the strategic decision to expand the College’s impact on its surrounding communities by investing in community development—the active advocacy for more resources for Jefferson County—and the Town of Hanover and the City of Madison. This new direction grew out of the College’s strategic plan objective of creating a more welcoming and inclusive campus. Through its collaboration with government and civic leaders, the College secured a $30 million grant for Jefferson Together, an expansive community development effort, which includes investments in projects on campus, in the Town of Hanover, and in the City of Madison. We recognize that effective community leadership requires dedicated human and financial resources.

To that end, we are seeking investments to ensure the continuation and expansion of our community development efforts.
