Carey Adams, Ph.D., Named Provost/vice President for Academic Affairs

Hanover College is pleased to announce the appointment of Carey Adams, Ph.D., as its new provost and vice president for academic affairs. Adams has an extensive background in higher education and small liberal arts colleges specifically, and was most recently the vice president for academic affairs at Fontbonne University in St. Louis.

Previously, Adams served as provost and vice president for academic affairs at Armstrong State University and dean of the College of Arts and Letters at Missouri State University. Adams earned his doctorate in communications from the University of Kansas, his master’s degree in communications from Baylor University, and his bachelor’s degree from William Jewell College.

“We are thrilled to be adding such an experienced and talented administrator in the critical role of provost,” said Lake Lambert, president of Hanover College. “Dr. Adams will be instrumental in helping Hanover prepare for its third century by providing guidance and leadership to our faculty and for our academic programs.”

Adams will begin at Hanover June 22, 2020.
