Faculty granted promotions, tenure

Faculty promotions and tenure were approved by the Board of Trustees at its February meeting. There are plans to recognize all of this year’s tenure and promotion recipients during the October Trustees Meeting.

Faculty members earning the rank of full professor are Dean Jacks, kinesiology and integrative physiology, and Michael Raley, history.

Promoted to associate professor and granted tenure are Tim Cunningham, chemistry, Rachel Davidson, communication, Eddie Hall, chemistry, and Greg Robison, physics.

Jacks earned an undergraduate degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh and a Ph.D. in exercise physiology from the University of Toledo. He joined the Hanover faculty in 2011.

Raley joined the Hanover faculty in 2013. He has earned an undergraduate degree from Belmont College (now University), master’s degrees from the University of Louisville and Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, a D.M.A. from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville and his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago.

Cunningham, a member of the faculty since 2015, earned an undergraduate degree in chemistry from Mercyhurst College (now University), and his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh.

Davidson joined the Hanover faculty in 2015. She received her undergraduate and master’s degrees from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis and her Ph.D. in communication from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee. Davidson received the 2020 Daryl R. Karns Award for Scholarly and Creative Activity.

Hall, a member of the faculty since 2015, earned an undergraduate degree from Ball State University and his Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Indiana University Bloomington. He performed post-doctoral research at Northwestern University.

Robison earned his undergraduate degrees in physics, mathematics and French from Manchester College (now University) and a Ph.D. in physics from Purdue University. He joined the Hanover faculty in 2014.
