Snyder, Elliott join staff to administer $30 million “Jefferson Together” grant

As progress continues on implanting the “Jefferson Together” project, Hanoverians Henry “Chip” Snyder ’86 and Samantha Elliott ’22 have been appointed to the College’s administrative staff. The alumni return to campus to lead Hanover’s community relations and outreach efforts, and provide critical oversight of the five-year grant.
Snyder will serve as director of community relations which, among other things, will focus on managing partnerships and collaborations with the community, while providing oversight of the $30 million Lilly Endowment grant for “Jefferson Together.” Elliott will be the administrative coordinator for community relation and will focus on implementation and tracking of all grant-related activities, working closely with the director and other senior leaders.
Snyder worked at PNC Bank for more than 25 years, accumulating vast experience in commercial real estate banking and community and nonprofit needs. In addition, he was active in Junior Achievement and his church, along with helping to lead the Cabbage Patch Settlement House, a 100-year-old youth and human services organization.

Elliott has worked as the marketing coordinator at SERVPRO in Southeastern Indiana for the past two years. She has also served as chair of Madison (Ind.) Young Professionals and as an ambassador for the Madison (Ind.) Area Chamber of Commerce.
“Jefferson Together” – administered by Hanover – is the result of a $30 million grant received in the summer from Lilly Endowment Inc. through its College and Community Collaboration initiative. The grant will support a holistic community development strategy that begins to address the economic, social, cultural and connectivity needs of residents in Jefferson County (Ind.).
The College’s efforts, a main focus for Snyder and Elliott, will leverage community partnerships and funds to pursue a vision of a thriving, connected region.
