Ewing earns post-graduate Orr Fellowship
Following graduation in May, Abby Ewing ‘25 will begin her post-Hanover career through the Gov. Bob Orr Indiana Entrepreneurial Fellowship program.

Launched in 2001, the Orr Fellowship is one of Indiana’s most-celebrated non-profit talent programs. The two-year post-graduate experience places high-achieving college seniors from across the U.S. in full-time, paid positions at dynamic companies and organizations in Central and Southwest Indiana.
The Orr Fellowship program provides top-tier students with an exploration of operational aspects at one of 60 partnering companies, plus a special curriculum that features an executive mentorship program and acceleration of career advancement. Benefits also include opportunities with top executives, nonprofit consulting projects, and an expedited pathway into Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business Evening Master of Business Administration program.
Ewing, a communication major with a business minor, is one of just 74 fellows in the program’s 2025 cohort and one of the founding fellows for the Evansville, Ind., expansion. She will be partnered with Deaconess Foundation, the fundraising and charitable arm of the Deaconess Health System, and will work as a marketing and business development fellow at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville.
Fellowships are awarded following a competitive, three-month process. In addition to interviews and networking events, candidates are evaluated on grade-point average, extracurricular involvement, leadership experience and personal and professional traits such as work ethic, resilience, curiosity and enthusiasm.
During her time at Hanover, Ewing has served as president and treasurer of Phi Mu fraternity, an officer with the Panhellenic Council and Dance Marathon, and as a member of College’s cheerleading squad.
