Campus Face-covering Mandate to Continue Through End of Academic Year
The Hanover College campus community will continue to follow its face-covering requirement through the end of the 2020-21 academic year.
As COVID-19 positivity rates continue to decrease and access to vaccinations increases, Hanover’s continuation of its face-covering requirements supports the effort to meet the campus community’s health and safety goals. These objectives are driven by the successful completion of the academic year, including an on-campus spring term, culminating with an in-person commencement ceremony May 29.
The College’s mandate states that all students, employees, contractors and visitors should wear a face covering when entering, traveling through or using common spaces, hallways and restrooms in buildings where person-to-person contact may occur.
Cloth face coverings must: fit snugly against the side of the face, completely cover the nose and mouth, be secured with ties or ear loops or around the back of the head or neck, include multiple layers of fabric, allow for breathing without restriction and be laundered and machine-dried without damage or change to shape.
Neck gaiters and homemade face coverings are allowed if they meet the above criteria. Bandanas (tied around the head) and masks with valves are not allowed.
