Mural, memorial among recent campus enhancements

Hanover College’s Duggan Library has added much-needed space for studying, student collaboration, classes and even social events after the removal of multiple shelves of periodicals from the north side of the first floor.
The expansive area is now bordered by “Trajectory,” a 500-square-foot, multi-panel mural designed, painted and installed this fall by students in Art 245, instructor Matt Gaddie’s large-scale painting class. The artwork was inspired by the College’s tagline, “A Place to Belong. A Person to Become.”
The Hanover College South Campus, located in Jeffersonville, Ind., has received a colorful makeover. The 14,600 square-foot facility now sports new flooring, a fully furnished apartment for clinical training, offices/study rooms and restrooms. The space is adorned in school colors with vibrant window and door graphics, large pole banners, exterior signage and entryway awning.
The South Campus is the site for in-person immersions for Hanover’s doctoral-level physical therapy and occupational therapy students throughout the year and, last fall, hosted a daylong Board of Trustees retreat.
Former staff member Katie Linville, who died August 7, 2022, was honored with a commemorative bench and garden area near the west entrance. Linville, well known for her love of Hanover’s students and their pets, worked at the College for nine years, including seven years as a campus safety officer.
