As a welcoming campus that values inclusivity and diversity, we reject the messages of bigotry and violence delivered by the Ku Klux Klan, as they are completely counter to the values of the College and what we believe to be the values of this community.
This year as we welcome our most racially and ethnically diverse class to the College, it is imperative that our region be a welcoming, hospitable and safe place for all people. We affirm our shared community commitment to respect, equality, kindness and justice. We must ensure that hate—under whatever mask it hides—can never be at home here.
We are proud to join the Madison Human Relations Commission, mayor of Madison Damon Welch, and other community leaders who have rejected hate and committed to making Jefferson County even stronger.
